About
I provide freelance controls engineering services to the manufacturing and oil & gas industries, enabling customers to operate their processes safely and efficiently. My experience in forging close working relationships with project stakeholders and operations has informed my end user-centric approach.
One of the passions driving my work is not so much the development of something new (which is enjoyable in its own right), but is instead being able to fix something that is broken. My abilities to thoroughly investigate a problem's historical context, to leverage a team's complimentary skillsets, and to communicate with involved parties has served me well.
Throughout my career, my attention to detail and my desire to make things better have contributed to numerous client successes. While working on a V&V project for a platform migration, not only did I ensure that the new system was written to spec, but I also translated the old platform's components that were broken or in a "MacGuyvered" state into features that lived up to the original intent.
My near term goal is to pivot from controls engineering into software development. I believe that my engineering background and my ability to help materialize results for clients will be a valuable asset for future employers.
